1. His full name is Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu
2. He was born on July 21, 1956 to Ola and Grace Akeredolu of Igbotu, Ese Odo, Ondo State
3. He attended Government Primary School, Owo, Aquinas College, Akure and Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State where he read Law and graduated in 1977
4. Before delving into politics, he ran a successful legal outfit, Olujinmi & Akeredolu, which he co-founded with Chief Akin Olujinmi, a former Attorney General and Minister of Justice of the Federation
5. He was married to Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu and together they had four children – Oluwarotimi Jr, Teniola, Yejide and Babajide
6. The most beautiful thing about their marriage is that Betty, a breast cancer survivor, is Igbo and also older than her husband
7. He served as the Attorney General of Ondo State between 1997 and 1999
8. He served as President, Nigerian Bar Association from 2008 to 2010
9. He was elected Ondo Governor in 2017 (February 24) and he died in 2023 (December 27) from complications arising from protracted prostate cancer
